To satisfy all these requirements, we have designed, build, and tested a new system for the acquisition of digital multispectral fluorescence images.

The system is essentially composed by an ad hoc designed and produced UV flash light source, synchronized with a high sensitivity digital CCD camera detector, 7 interferential filters and a multivariate analysis software.

The system allows to quantify the fluorescence emission both radiometrically and colorimetrically, according to the CIE standards, to acquire fluorescence images even in day light conditions, and to perform multivariate data analysis.
